Nigeria’s foremost Halal standard and certification body, Halal Certification Authority has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Halal Food Authority, United Kingdom on improving Halal testing and certification

The signing of the MOU took place during a recent visit of the HCA President, Prof. Ibrahim Oreagba and the Chief Analyst of HCA , Mrs Kabirat Ajani to the corporate office of the Halal Food Authority in London, UK on the 10th of July 2023.

Halal Certification Authority comprises of highly qualified professionals in the field of food safety and quality assurance, medical and pharmaceutical sciences and public health as well as reputable Islamic scholars who give final approval to the certification process. The Halal Food Authority UK, is involved in the supervision, inspection, audit, certification and compliance of Halal principles and practices in the UK food and beverage industry. The two parties shall work together in the following areas:
– Halal food research facility in Africa,
– Laboratory Investigations
– Exchange program on human resource development
– Global Halal recognition and
– Traceability.
